Across the country, reports of anxiety, depression and mental health issues are growing amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and there’s concern not enough is being done to help those struggling.
Facing extra pandemic stress, Elliot Hudson knew when to ask for help. His therapist suggested the mental health service MindBeacon, which the Ontario government has provided nearly $2 million to offer free virtual therapy during the pandemic.
But as Abigail Bimman reports, Hudson says that after completing an intense application, he was turned away.
