Conservative MP Michelle Rempel Garner on Tuesday called on the Trudeau government to institute rapid testing for COVID-19 at Canadian airports.
Officials representing UNIFOR Local 7378, which represents Canadian airline pilots, joined Rempel Garner.

Rempel Garner said that rather than asking Canadians to quarantine upon entering the country, the government should be exploring rapid testing as a “better way” of keeping people healthy. She pointed to the millions of Canadians who are exempt from quarantine requirements.

The Alberta MP said the airline industry is “on life support” and that the only way to help bring it back is to introduce a “clear plan” on rapid testing.
