As COVID numbers spike with daily tally crossing the Chennai Corporation has launched a special COVID ambulance service that enables home triage possible and take in these vehicles only the co-morbid or those who require hospitalisation and institutional isolation without troubling their families. This makes the 108 service ambulances and hospital beds available for serious patients. NDTV's Sam Daniel spoke to the Greater Chennai Corporation Commissioner, Mr Gagandeep Singh Bedi on this model, projections and challenges.
