Air ambulances have been playing a big role in transporting critically ill Covid patients to medical hubs like Hyderabad, Chennai and Bengaluru. These cities have sophisticated ECMO or extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and lung transplant facilities where those who cannot survive on ventilators can be treated and those who need a lung transplant are able to get help. NDTV's Uma Sudhir talks to Dr Shalini Nalwad and Dr Rahul Singh Sardar, a team of doctors who co-founded Intensive Critical Care Air Transfer Team or ICATT, that has now created a world record by transferring 80 patients on ECMO.
