According to a recent study, about one in 1,000 people who reach the age of 100 can live to 110.

On Saturday, one of the oldest Canadians became one of them.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Arnold Hawkins of Beaver Harbour, New Brunswick, can't mark the milestone surrounded by family at a party, so they found another way to make his big day special. A request for birthday cards resulted in an unexpected avalanche of wishes from across Canada and even as far as Australia.

Travis Fortnum reports.
