The Band of the Household Cavalry played a rendition of "Happy Birthday" on Monday in honour of King Charles III's 74th birthday, which was his first as monarch.

Charles is expected to enjoy his first birthday in private with no public engagements planned.

However, in addition to the band wishing him a happy birthday, the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery held a gun salute in his honour.
