After prompting several road closures and evacuation warnings, a fast-moving wildfire in California’s Santa Barbara County is continuing to burn – reportedly covering more than 13,250 acres as of Saturday night.

The Zaca Lake area blaze began on Friday afternoon and as of Saturday afternoon, “remains active” and has been contained “0 per cent,” as Scott Safechuck, the public information officer for Santa Barbara County’s fire department wrote on X.

While the cause of the fire remains unknown, hot, dry and windy conditions in the region have forced fire officials and forecasters to issue various warnings about the risk of wildfires.
