A wildfire in northern California has burned more than 91,000 acres and left a trail of destruction in its wake. Firefighters are battling the so-called Beckwourth Complex fire, now the largest in the state, as it continues to rage along the Nevada state line.

Over the weekend, around 20 homes and other structures were destroyed in Doyle, a town of 600 people, and last week, a "fire tornado" was seen in Plumas County.

Firefighters say they have successfully contained a quarter of the wildfire so far, but it continues to be an explosive one.

Officials are urging residents to continue to be vigilant and prepared to evacuate.
