Drone video from California showed roads and farmland underwater on Tuesday, in the aftermath of the latest spate of harsh wintry weather in the state. Homes and vehicles could be seen inundated by floodwaters near the Tule River in Corcoran.

Meanwhile, the latest burst of heavy, wind-blown rain and snow churned out of the Pacific into California on Tuesday, triggering scattered floods and mudslides, uprooting trees and leaving thousands of storm-weary residents under evacuation orders.

Near the town of Boulder Creek in Northern California's Santa Cruz Mountains, residents were clearing the road with their own chainsaws and directing traffic through a gauntlet of logs and both power and communications lines that were dragged to the ground in the storm.
