The riots at Brazil's Congress, Supreme Court and the presidential palace are being compared to the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

They unfolded in response to the results of a federal election, which involved huge security breaches and a significantly outnumbered law force at the beginning.

Jackson Proskow looks at the similarities between both attempted insurrections, and how the events in Brasilia appear to be inspired by what happened in Washington.
