November 24, 2021: Wisconsin parade, Ahmaud Arbery, Biden, Capitol riots, Poland and Belarus border
1. The man accused of driving his vehicle into a traditional Christmas parade in Waukesha made his first court appearance since the weekend rampage and was charged with homicide, as the death toll rose to six.
2. A Georgia jury deliberated for more than six hours without reaching a verdict on murder and other charges against three men, Travis McMichael, his father Gregory McMichael and their neighbor William "Roddie" Bryan, who chased and shot Ahmaud Arbery.
3. The Biden administration has invited Taiwan to its "Summit for Democracy" next month, according to a list of participants published, a move that infuriated China, which views the democratically governed island as its territory.
4. The U.S. House of Representatives committee probing the deadly Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol issued five subpoenas to far-right extremist groups that have backed former President Donald Trump and to individuals associated with those groups.
5. Migrants tried to force their way through the fence on the Poland-Belarus border in at least two locations, the Polish Border Guard said, as tensions remained on the ground amid a diplomatic push by the Polish prime minister.
