Boris Johnson is travelling to Brussels for a meeting over dinner with the EU Commission President in an attempt to unblock talks on a post-Brexit trade deal.

It came as the EU’s chief negotiator Michel Barnier warned that a no deal outcome was now the most likely one.

Negotiations remain stuck with just over three weeks to go before the transition period finishes at the end of December.

Reeta Chakrabarti presents BBC News at Ten reporting by deputy political editor Vicki Young and Ireland correspondent Emma Vardy.
