BC wildfires: Evacuation alerts issued for Shuswap Lake's south shore

In Shushwap lake, a crisis is unfolding with several communities now under evacuation order as danger approaches from the Lower East Adams Lake fire.

Thousands of residents are now trying to leave however they can, as the 100 square kilometer fire rapidly grows. That is on top of the 32-square kilometre Bush Creek East fire, which is also threatening the region.

The situation throughout the Shuswap region remains fluid, with most visitors trying to get out of the area to free up hotel rooms for those who can't go home, while emergency personnel continue to work around the clock to try and save as many homes and buildings as possible.
