The Eagle Bluff fire covered a mountainside in flames in Osoyoos, British Columbia on July 29 as it crossed the U.S.-Canada border, scorching 885 hectares by Sunday.

About 700 properties in the area were evacuated Saturday evening as the wind drove the flames closer to town. Another 2,000 homes remain under evacuation alert and a travel advisory is in place for a section of Highway 3.

With Monday’s forecast calling for more wind, crews will be keeping a close eye on the fast-moving blaze.
