Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge is a major transportation thoroughfare for the U.S. east coast, with approximately 30,000 vehicles crossing it each day.
The bridge collapsed into the Patapsco River on Tuesday after it was struck by a container ship.
The lights on the Singapore-flagged cargo ship were seen flickering just before the crash, possibly signaling a potential power failure.
Eric Sorensen takes a closer look at the crash and what could have happened to bring the bridge crashing down.
