Plans for Alberta's total lift of COVID-19 restrictions have been put on pause.
Dr. Deena Hinshaw, the province's chief medical officer of health, has extended Alberta's rules for six more weeks, back tracking on the exit planned for Monday.
Hinshaw says hospitalizations in Alberta are trending higher than they had forecast and they're also keeping a close eye on rising pediatric cases south of the border.
