Air Canada says no to fixing booking error, but gives Ontario passengers credit after review

It was a case of flipped flights when a couple from Sudbury, Ontario booked a trip to Toronto ahead of a month down south, only to find out they had instead booked a plane heading the opposite direction.

Phil and Marsha Rehel discovered the issue a few days after booking that they had instead booked a flight from Toronto to Sudbury. When they contacted Air Canada, Phil admitted it was his mistake but felt a change may be possible because the flight was still three-quarters empty. But the airline said no due to the couple holding non-refundable tickets. Phil said the couple had no problem even paying a fee to switch the flights, but didn't have the opportunity.

As Sean O'Shea reports, Air Canada eventually agreed to review the case and provided a flight credit at full cost. But the Rehels are still calling on the airline to be more understanding for travellers especially after the travel chaos faced during the holidays.
