Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced on Sunday that the province's online vaccine booking system will go live on Monday, March 15 at 8 a.m. ET.

Ford said the system will allow people to book their vaccine appointments, starting with people 80 years or older, and expanding gradually to younger age groups.

The premier urged people not to try to book appointments if they don't fit the age criteria given by the province.

He also called on the federal government to send more vaccine supply to Ontario, saying they have the capacity to administer 4.8 million vaccines a month but have only received 1.4 million vaccines for March.

Ontario reported 1,747 cases of the novel coronavirus Sunday, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 318,106.
