Canadian Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland announced Wednesday that two million seniors have been approved for coverage under Canada's new Dental Care Plan.
She also said there are now close to 10,000 oral health care providers offering services under the Canadian Dental Care Plan.
"This includes dentists and dental-care specialists, independent dental care hygienists and denturists," Freeland added.
The first phase of the Canadian Dental Care Plan was officially launched across the country on May 1.
Freeland was joined by federal health minister Mark Holland for the announcement in Toronto.
