The Norwegian Refugee Council, a humanitarian organization, has released its “Top 10” list of the crises international community is ignoring, shining a spotlight on emergencies it says are “unseen, unheard and unknown.”

For the first time, all 10 of the most neglected crises around the world are in Africa.

The group says the crises are failing to attract media attention, international aid and “political will.” It says by releasing this list it hopes to focus attention on the plight of those impacted by these crises.

Mike Armstrong reports from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, a country sitting at the top of this grim ranking.
