The United Nations says Afghanistan is now the world’s most repressive country for women and girls, who have lost many basic human rights since the Taliban retook control of the country.

It’s never been an easy place for women to be journalists, and it's become even tougher for the few who remain.

Global's Shogofa Danish now works in Ottawa and spent much of her career in Kabul.

She speaks with a former colleague who is risking her life to remain a journalist in Afghanistan.
