Afghan journalists say Taliban forces tortured them with batons, whips, and electric cables for filming a women's protest in Kabul.

Newspaper photographer Nematullah Naqdi, and his colleague, reporter Taqi Daryabi, shared images of the horrific marks left on their bodies following the attack, which comes despite the Taliban's assurances of press freedom.

'One of the Taliban put his foot on my head, crushed my face against the concrete. Then, they kicked me in the head... I thought they were going to kill me,' Daryabi told AFP.

When asked about the incident, an acting Taliban minister said that any attack on journalists would be investigated.
