Amid demands of stormwater drains in several parts of Chennai, residents in Juhu Beach area, and those living along the east coast, are not happy with the civic body's Rs 350 crore project. The stormwater drains can affect the natural recharging process and cause "irreparable damage", they said. "As residents, we don't want our area to be flooded," said a local.
