The Chennai Corporation recently sealed a popular silk store at T Nagar, the city's commercial hub, over large-scale violations of the COVID-19 norms. As the city administration gears up to ensure the upcoming festive season doesn't lead to a spike as market places get crowded, NDTV spoke to Greater Chennai Commissioner G Prakash on the crackdown. He denied under-reporting of cases and appealed to the people of Chennai to avoid shopping, if possible, in the festive season.
