Thirty years on from the historic handshake and signing ceremony of the Oslo Accords, the incentive for Israel to reach a deal with the Palestinians appears to have largely evaporated.

Arab nations always made the Palestinian issue a condition of any process to normalise relations with Israel.

But under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel has turned that on its head.

Al Jazeera’s Paul Brennan reports from occupied East Jerusalem and Nida Ibrahim is in Bethlehem overlooking the illegal Israeli settlement of Har Homa.
