Ozempic and other medication containing semiglutide continue to be used by people as a weight loss drug and treatment for diabetes, but anecdotal reports on social media appear to show it's having a new result: pregnancy.

Women have been posting on social media saying they got pregnant while taking Ozempic, and other similar medication, with some noting they dealt with fertility issues and believed they'd never be able to conceive until they tested positive. Doctors say it could be a result of the hormonal changes that can occur when they've lost weight as a result of the drugs, or that the medications may affect the effectiveness of oral contraceptives like birth control pills.

As Sean Previl explains, doctors say the phenomenon is proving to be interesting but more research needs to be done to determine the exact impact such medications can have on fertility and pregnancy.
