NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg spoke alongside Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba at a NATO foreign ministers meeting in Bucharest, Romania discussing Russia's war in Ukraine on Tuesday.
Speaking about the support from NATO allies, Kuleba said, "We appreciate what has been done, but the war goes on. We proved that we can defeat Russia. We proved that we can win together in the interests of the entire Euro-Atlantic space and the world. But decisions on weapons, and decisions on launching new production lines of weapons in western countries have to be made faster, and deliveries of weapons have to be made faster. This is what we are discussing with ministers — how to speed up everything," Kuleba said.
Foreign ministers of NATO member states and applicants Finland and Sweden sat down for the start of a two-day meeting on Tuesday, as the alliance's head accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of using winter as "a weapon of war" in Ukraine.
NATO is seeking ways to sustain Kyiv's military and help keep civilians safe amid constant blackouts and heating shortages caused by Moscow's targeting of its energy infrastructure at the talks in the Romanian capital.
