Rivers and lakes are running dry around the world, as unprecedented drought conditions hit multiple countries across the Northern Hemisphere.
In China, there's been so little rain that a 600-year-old statue of Buddha has been uncovered on a dried up stretch of the Yangtze river.
Satellite pictures show Chinese rivers full in April, and parched in August.
But the worst conditions are in East Africa, where the U.N. says as many as 22 million people could face extreme hunger in the months ahead. Eric Sorensen looks at the consequences of climate change.
