Tropical Storm Nicole hit Florida’s east coast early Thursday morning as a Category 1 Hurricane.
Daytona Beach Shores was one of the hardest hit areas with several high-rise condo buildings and homes being evacuated because of threats to the foundations caused by surging water. Nicole was only one of three hurricanes to hit Florida’s shores in November since recordkeeping began in 1853.
Gov. Ron DeSantis on Thursday expanded his emergency declaration to incorporate all 67 Florida counties.

The large tropical storm sprawled over nearly all of Florida on Thursday and is moving north toward Georgia and the Carolinas.
