WATCH: FBI failed to protect Nassar victims, Durbin says

U.S. Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin, D-Il, gave opening statements Sept. 15 before the Senate Judiciary Committee as lawmakers examine if the FBI mishandled its investigation of former USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar, who was convicted in 2018 of sexually abusing women and young female athletes in his care. He said the FBI failed to protect Nassar’s victims by not taking any action when Nassar’s abuse was reported to the agency — 15 months before the Indianapolis Star broke the story.
