In his last State of the Union address before the general election, President Joe Biden said he wants “competition with China, not conflict” and suggested that the United States is rising economically, “standing up against China’s unfair economic practices.”

Biden said he boosted trade relations across Asia and the Pacific Rim, prohibited the use of “most advanced technologies” from the U.S. to be traded in China and pointed out that for all of likely Republican nominee and former President Donald Trump’s “tough talk on China, it never occurred to my predecessor to do any of that.”
