In a series of tweets, he says Afghan’s security forces are capable of defending their own people.
But some Afghans fear renewed attacks by the Taliban which says it will not attend a summit in Turkey until all foreign troops on its soil have gone.
US President Joe Biden has extended his predecessor Donald Trump’s deadline to leave Afghanistan by five months.
