On Monday, White House National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby clarified that he's not aware of any U.S. flying balloons or other surveillance aircraft in Chinese airspace at this time.

He also spoke about the next steps the government is taking following the shooting down of an unidentified object over Lake Huron on Sunday, as well as the recent aerial takedown of a suspected Chinese spy balloon.

In addition to collecting debris, Kirby mentioned the U.S. is continuing to monitor for more aerial objects and continuing to brief officials at the state level on what they're learning.

Following the suspected Chinese surveillance balloon and other unknown aerial entities flying over the U.S. recently, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told the press conference, with laughter, there's "no indication of aliens" in recent aerial takedowns.

A U.S. fighter jet shot down an “unidentified object” over Lake Huron on Sunday on orders from President Joe Biden. It was the fourth such downing in eight days and the latest military strike in an extraordinary chain of events over U.S. airspace that Pentagon officials believe has no peacetime precedent.

Recently, there was also a suspected Chinese spy balloon shot down after it was found flying in U.S. airspace. China claimed the balloon, but denied it was being used for espionage.
