The UN Security Council has for the first time called for an end to the fighting in Ethiopia, but a meeting to discuss the crisis has been postponed until next week.
Ethiopia's year-long conflict with rebels from the northern Tigray region has worsened recently with the Tigrayan People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) forces seizing key cities on a highway that leads towards the capital.
The Oromo Liberation Army and seven other groups from around the country have now joined the TPLF in the fighting.
