The United Nations special envoy for Libya has quit just a month before a scheduled presidential election in Libya.
Jan Kubis, in the role for less than a year, says the job demanded his presence in Tripoli, something that he didn't want to do on a full-time basis.
Libya's first round of the presidential election is set for December 24, with parliamentary elections coming in January or February of 2022.
