UN ends political mission: Security Council adopted resolution on Friday

After three years, the UN has ended its special mission in Sudan.
It was set up to support the country's transition to democratic rule, after the overthrow of longtime president Omar Al Bashir.
However a military takeover and renewed conflict made its work extremely difficult.
