The date on the blackboard reads 23rd February.

That was the last day the children attended this school in southern Ukraine.

And it was the day before Russia invaded Ukraine.

Since then the school has been used as an impromptu bomb shelter by local residents sheltering from Russian attacks.

With the Russian forces now gone, the focus for teachers is to repair the damage the school suffered, regain electricity and work to enable children to return to class.
