A second attempt to evacuate civilians from Ukraine's southeastern city of Mariupol has failed. Residents were expected to leave the city today during a 10am to 9pm local ceasefire. Ukrainian officials say evacuations were stopped due to continued Russian shelling.
Another attempt to evacuate MariUpol and another city besieged by Moscow's troops in southeastern Ukraine was also called off on Saturday. Both sides accused the other of violating a temporary truce. Some 200,000 civilians are trapped in MariUpol which continues to be without water and electricity, and is running low on food.
