Tens of thousands of nurses in the U.K. walked off the job for 12 hours on Thursday, their first ever national walkout in more than a century.

The walk-offs come amid a surge of respiratory infections packing clinics and hospitals during the holiday season.

Crystal Goomansingh reports on the burnout nurses are feeling from the stress of the pandemic, and the bitter pay dispute between with the British government that has no end in sight.
