The number of cases of Monkeypox has doubled to 20, with 11 of those announced today.

The World Health Organisation said most cases are mild, but warned the disease can be more severe in young children, pregnant women and those who are immunocompromised.

Health Secretary Sajid Javid said: “Most cases are mild, and I can confirm we have procured further doses of vaccines that are effective against monkeypox.”
