Despite already being pummeled with mass floods, power outages and more than 1.2 million evacuations in the past week, China continues to suffer from the devastation of Typhoon Doksuri.
In the last week, disaster-response systems across China have been put to the test massively due to tropical storms. Doksuri brought record rainfall that reportedly could take weeks to recede.
Li Danali, a local resident from the hardest hit city in the Hebei region, Zhuozhou, claimed Doksuri brought upon their biggest flood in 60 years.
“The power has been out since the villages are flooded. But the water is supplied for two hours a day — one hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon — so basic living is still guaranteed,” Danali added.
