Mark Dickey was on an international exploration mission in the Morca cave in Turkey's Mersin province, in the Taurus mountains, when he started experiencing gastrointestinal bleeding at a depth of 1,040 metres (3,412 ft) below the ground.
Over 150 rescuers from Turkey and other countries have been working tirelessly to save him since he encounter medical distress.
As of Friday, rescue operations have been ongoing for four days, and authorities say that a phone line has been set up to contact Mark, who has been out of direct contact since been trapped below ground.
