Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau held a press conference in Montreal on Tuesday as the winter Liberal Cabinet retreat entered its third and final day.

After discussing Canada's economy and affordability crisis in the first two days, the focus of the day — according to Liberal ministers — would be the upcoming 2024 U.S. presidential election, among other international concerns.

During his speech, Trudeau said that no matter the winner in the upcoming U.S. election, Canada will maintain its "constructive" and "well-integrated" approach with the country, while defending and making clear Canada's "interests and opportunities."

On the possibility of former U.S. president Donald Trump taking office again, Trudeau said, "Obviously, Mr. Trump represents a certain amount of unpredictability, but we will make sure we're pulling together and preparing for whatever eventualities.”
