A bus took residents of Lytton, B.C. back to tour their village, nine days after it was decimated by a wildfire.
Rail traffic was shut down for the afternoon, allowing people in the community to grieve.
The wildfire claimed two lives in Lytton, where most people have been told they can’t return until the fall.
Even then, massive efforts will be needed to rebuild the village. What caused the fire remains under investigation, though officials say it was likely caused by a human.
Aaron McArthur has the stories of survival that people are sharing.
