Ukrainian MP Lesia Vasylenko thinks Russian President Vladimir Putin has gone insane but tells DW's Tim Sebastian she is not worried he would press the nuclear button.

"In all honesty, Putin has made so many claims which he never went ahead with, saying that he is willing to deploy nuclear weapons in Ukraine would be suicidal to him and to his own country and his own people as well."

More than two months into the war in Ukraine and both sides are taking heavy losses.

While the bombardment goes on, Moscow has kept up its relentless propaganda, accusing NATO of conducting a proxy war with Russia.

The human rights lawyer joined Tim Sebastian from Kyiv.

What makes her so sure Mr Putin wouldn’t press his nuclear button?

In recent weeks she’s had blunt words for the West and NATO – accusing the alliance of cowardice, and watching the war as if it were a movie.

Does she still feel that way? And what about a future peace deal with Russia? Is there any sign at all of what it might look like?
All that and much more on Conflict Zone.
