Ethiopian federal forces are looking for the leaders of the Tigray People's Liberation Front after government soldiers entered the regional capital Mekelle, the Ethiopian national defence force chief said.
The Ethiopian government says its forces now control the whole region.
State television showed weapons that it said the TPLF had hidden in churches.
The TPLF leaders meanwhile promised to keep fighting.
Hundreds were reportedly killed and thousands displaced in the conflict.
