Now hundreds of asylum seekers are trapped in unsuitable housing - say campaigners - while they wait for the Home Office to decide their application.

For those with disabilities - it's even more of a problem - with some saying they're struggling to cope in properties which aren't properly accessible or fit for their needs.

And recent figures suggest that tens of thousands of people are having to wait almost a year for an asylum decision.
