Immigration Minister Sean Fraser called on provincial and municipal governments to work together with the feds in an effort to find solutions to the ongoing issue of asylum seekers experiencing difficulty finding housing.
The call comes as questions and concerns are being raised over a growing number of asylum claimants and seekers arriving in cities, especially Toronto, and are left sleeping on the streets as they try to find shelter.
Fraser told Global News in an interview that officials cannot just "point their fingers at each other trying to lay blame or avoid accountability," and added that no level of government can just "throw money at a problem" and expect that will be the solution.
