More than 50 Democratic members of the Texas legislature remain in the US capital.
They fled to Washington, DC on Monday to stop the Texan House of Representatives from reaching a quorum – the minimum number of members needed to conduct business. They said it was the only way to prevent new state laws to suppress voter rights for minorities from being passed.
