Democrats join Civil Rights Leaders on reintroducing the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Act

Democratic Senators, Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Dick Durbin, and Raphael Warnock join civil rights leaders in supporting the reintroduction of the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.

The bill would restore and strengthen parts of the Voting Rights Act 1965, including the requirement for certain jurisdictions to seek federal approval before making particular changes to their voting laws.
